The Makita BJV180 is a 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Jig Saw Kit. It has 4-Pole position cut settings (3 Orbital and 1 Straight) for fast and efficient cutting in all applications. The Makita BJV180s large variable speed trigger allows for total cutting control (0-2600 SPM). LXT Lithium-Ion provides longer run time, 5x lower self-discharge (for use any time) and 16 firm holding contact terminals (for constant high power). The 25-minute rapid optimum charger on the Makita BJV180 communicates with the battery throughout the charging process using the built inch chip in the battery and built inch CPU chip in the charger. This chip helps to actively control current, voltage and temperature to optimize battery life on the Makita BJV180.

Absolutely essential tool for my construction business. Couple of issues, the plastic splinter guard disappeared in the first 15 minutes of work, lost in the debris, and one battery supplied the jigsaw does not hold good charge. Returned battery to Makita.
The only problem so far. I have nothing bad to say about it. This saw is the cats meow. I had the corded Milwaukee jig and this is all around better. What clean quiet cord free cuts. The splinter plastic devise has been falling off. These latest Makita cordless tools are great, I bought the 4 tool pack and the 7 tool pack and then this tool all by itself. VERY PLEASED.
